Hotel Food Processing and Catering Workers Union conducted a workshop of 22 participants from Mangochi. The participants were drawn from Nyanja Bakery, Nkopola Lodge, Sun and Sand Lodge, Zaburi Lodge and La Rievira. the workshop was a two days workshop. it was held at Pamudzi Lodge.
The participants were trained on Trade Union Organisation, Grievance Handling, Collective Bargaining and some aspects of labour laws.
Speaking after the workshop Comrade Kunkuyu from Nkopola thanked the union for conducting the workshop and he said the workshop has empowered him to assist the organisation as well as his co workers.
The regional organiser for the south thanked all present for attending the workshop. he encouraged them to go and recruit more members in the union. He also asked the the properly assist the members when faced with grievance. Taking His turn the regional representative from the south Gracious Maganga thanked secretariat for organising the workshop. He asked secretariat if they can arrange another meeting specifically on sexual harassment. The project coordinator Zione Nyirenda said she will see if it can be done this.
