Hotel Food Processing and Catering Workers Union (HFPCWU) held a tripartite meeting in Mangochi. The meeting was co-sponsored by HFPCWU and Reserve Bank of Malawi.
HFPCWU noted that many employers in Mangochi do not put their employees on Pension. It is mandatory that every employer should put their employees on pension.
The meeting was held at Sun and Sun Hotel and was attended by 128 participants from tourism and food processing sectors of the country.
Mrs Machinjiri the owner of Boadzulu Holiday Resort asked the government through the ministry of labour of Mangochi to also look at how best the employers could be assisted
Speaking at the same meeting Simiao Simbine the regional coordinator for SASK said he was impressed with the meeting as stalk holders shared their views on employment
Present at the meeting was also the District Tourism Officer for Mangochi
