Hotel Food Processing and Catering Workers Union (HFPCWU) have signed a Sexual Harassment Policy. This event took place at Crossroads Hotel in Lilongwe.
The sexual harassment policy was developed with input from both the management and the union.
Speaking at the signing ceremony the general manager of Crossroads Hotel thanked the union for their input in the policy. He said all members of staff should read the document. He reminded the staff that the policy forms part of their contract and everyone will be required to sign and a copy will be in the employee personal file.
One employee said it was a welcome move to have the policy at the workplace as it will help the employees to know what to do when harassed.
